Our Mission
Our mission is to raise awareness of narcissistic abuse, emotional abuse, and coercive control through educational materials and training.
Why This Work Matters
Narcissistic abuse, emotional abuse, and coercive control are often difficult to recognize because they leave no visible scars. Many survivors spend months or even years questioning their own reality, believing they are the problem, or trying harder to make the relationship work without realizing they are experiencing abuse.
Even after leaving, many survivors continue to struggle with confusion, self-doubt, and the lasting effects of what they've experienced. Friends, family, and even professionals may not fully understand these forms of abuse, leaving survivors feeling isolated and misunderstood.
We believe awareness is the first step toward change.
What Exactly Is Narcissistic Abuse?
Narcissistic abuse is a pattern of emotional and psychological abuse that is used to gain power, control, or influence over another person. It often involves manipulation, intimidation, deception, or repeated behaviors that gradually undermine a person's confidence, independence, and sense of reality.
Unlike physical abuse, narcissistic abuse is often subtle and difficult to recognize. It may include gaslighting, coercive control, emotional manipulation, isolation, blame-shifting, chronic criticism, or unpredictable cycles of affection and mistreatment. Over time, these patterns can leave survivors feeling confused, anxious, emotionally exhausted, and questioning their own judgment.
The term "narcissistic abuse" is commonly used to describe abuse associated with narcissistic personality traits or narcissistic personality disorder. However, many abusive behaviors can also occur in relationships involving other high-conflict or controlling personalities. Regardless of the label, the impact on survivors is often similar.
Understanding these patterns is not about diagnosing another person. It's about helping survivors recognize unhealthy relationship dynamics, make sense of their experiences, and begin moving forward with greater clarity and confidence.
